Expectations
In the beginning of the counseling relationship you will be asked to provide some background information on your life as well as the current issues that led you to seek therapy. We believe that therapy is a collaborative process between the therapist, individuals, families, groups and organizations. We can help you:
- Identify goals and potential solutions to difficulties which cause emotional turmoil
- Seek to improve communication and coping skills
- Promote behavior change and have optimal mental health.
Through therapy we can help you examine the behaviors, thoughts, feelings and interactions that are causing difficulties in your life. You can learn how to relate to others in different ways that will reduce conflict and improve interpersonal relationships. You can learn effective ways to deal with your problems by building upon personal strengths, effectively using the resources that you have and by learning new ways to help yourself and your family. We will encourage your personal growth and development in ways that foster your interest and welfare. We work with Adults, Adolescents, families and couples. We can help you deal with issues related to:
- Emotional difficulties related to disability and illness
and a variety of behavior issues with adolescents and their families.
